When Marshall and Lily realized they couldn’t sleep without the other.
The gang challenged them not to sleep together for two weeks before their wedding day. Although seeming successful, in the end we realize (through Ted’s speech) that both have been sneaking out to see each other.
This was a really sweet episode.
Robin Scherbatsky
Her characteristics include being independent and co-dependent at the same time, she prioritizes career above others, and is forceful in a quiet manner. She also keeps her feelings mostly to herself and she is a woman who to me seems to give more importance to what she thinks over what she feels.
Over the years her character has been more silent than others which I would like to think she would have preferred anyway, and now that she is more exposed, we see the Robin who is more relatable than ever before.
I find myself ‘getting concerned’ about her when watching How I Met Your Mother even though I know she is merely fiction! I am hoping that the writers will do her justice, after everything that they’ve let her go through. There must be something good in store for her at the end; I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

This post is long overdue! Anyway, so the best How I Met Your Mother scene for us is the small but disturbing scene from Season 5, Episode 14: Perfect Week.
While the highlight of this story is Barney’s perfect week, there is one part of it which Mun and I both agree is very hilarious:
It was when Marshall and Lily revealed they were sharing a toothbrush and how everybody thought it was eewww, and while both try to keep their composure amidst humiliation, Ted and Robin soon realizes they shared it too! Made me realize how the writers really take into consideration every little bit of detail.
It’s like being super adamant and confident on your stand about an idea then later realize {in front of everyone} that you’ve fell for a trap you created yourself.

If you are a How I Met Your Mother fan like me, you’d probably remember this song from the scene when Ted and Robin let go of their promise to become each other’s back-up bride/groom. It is a bittersweet moment surely, and this song made that whole scene even more intense.
I loved this song the first time I heard it from the episode, not only because it is such a fitting choice but because it really is true that “it is hard to dance with the devil on your back” and “it’s always darkest before the dawn”
Shake It Out by Florence + The Machine
Regrets collect like old friends
Here to relive your darkest moments
I can see no way, I can see no way
And all of the ghouls come out to play
And every demon wants his pound of flesh
But I like to keep some things to myself
I like to keep my issues drawn
It’s always darkest before the dawn
And I’ve been a fool and I’ve been blind
I can never leave the past behind
I can see no way, I can see no way
I’m always dragging that horse around
All of his questions, such a mournful sound
Tonight I’m gonna bury that horse in the ground
So I like to keep my issues drawn
But it’s always darkest before the dawn
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh woaaah
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh woaaah
And it’s hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh woah
I am done with my graceless heart
So tonight I’m gonna cut it out and then restart
Cause I like to keep my issues drawn
It’s always darkest before the dawn
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh woaaah
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh woaaah
And it’s hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh woah
And given half the chance would I take any of it back
It’s a fine romance but it’s left me so undone
It’s always darkest before the dawn
Oh woah, oh woah…
And I’m damned if I do and I’m damned if I don’t
So here’s to drinks in the dark at the end of my rope
And I’m ready to suffer and I’m ready to hope
It’s a shot in the dark and right at my throat
Cause looking for heaven, for the devil in me
Looking for heaven, for the devil in me
Well what the hell I’m gonna let it happen to me
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh woaaah
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh woaaah
And it’s hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh woah
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh woaaah
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh woaaah
And it’s hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh woah
I cannot really decide on which episode is my favorite. Given that there are 150+ episodes to choose from, I could go about five or more favorite episodes.
But I am going to write here the episode which made me watch this show in the first place. It was Season four’s (interestingly enough) fourth episode: Intervention.
Why?
I was sick back then, I couldn’t eat, and was running very low on energy. I was stuck in bed and was alone at home throughout the night because Mun was at work on night shift. She was going to be back soon and it was still very early and I chanced upon the show on cable. Mun mentioned several times how funny the series was so I watched. And it was my first laughter since getting sick. And I was hooked since.
The part that was most memorable:
They talked about growing up and moving out of the apartment like they knew what they were talking about and were very convincing in the beginning. They were even arguing about who should pay the security deposit. Then just like that they fall like dominoes. It was so funny! I especially like Robin’s outburst about not keeping any picture of any of her friends. In the end, we can see that she asked Wendy, the waitress, to take their picture.

I’ve watched the episode numerous times and I still laugh like the first time.
